Maker and taker fees

Trading fees that differ depending on whether your order adds liquidity or removes it.

A taker order fills against existing orders and usually pays the higher rate. A maker order rests on the book and pays less, sometimes nothing.

A market buy is a taker order, so the taker rate is the one that applies to most first purchases.
