XRP
The native digital asset of the XRP Ledger, used to pay transaction costs and to bridge between currencies.
XRP is the asset built into the XRP Ledger. All 100 billion units were created when the ledger launched in 2012, and no more can ever be issued.
Every transaction on the ledger destroys a small amount of XRP as its cost, so the total supply falls slowly over time. XRP is also used as a bridge currency: a payment from one fiat currency to another can route through XRP without either side holding it for more than a few seconds.
